March 2001

Dear Brethren;
Paul asked for prayer in Colossians 4:3 where he said “Withal praying for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:” He rejoiced in 1Corinthians 16:9 “For a great and effectual door is opened unto me...” I thank all of you who prayed that God would open doors for us to minister “On the Streets”. God has certainly begun to answer those prayers. We had been here less than a week when God hooked us up with two missionaries in Mexico, one in an established church in Juarez and another in a just started church in the neighboring city of Zaragoza. We have been assisting so far with visitation as well as getting out a lot of tracts. The boys and I were blessed to get to pass out tracts on a Sunday afternoon in Zaragoza, inviting folks to church with our limited Spanish. God blessed the effort, 15 visitors came that night and 5 adults got saved and 2 children! We pray they will continue to come and that this small church will grow.
We were all struck with a virus that slowed us down for about 10 days. It was hard to sit still with so much work to do. At one point, we felt we had to take the baby to the hospital. The doctor there was a real blessing...since it was a virus there was not much he could do as a doctor, but since he was saved, and not ashamed of it, he had prayer with us right there in the examination room. Praise the Lord for a doctor who is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ!
On March 14th we had Missionary Bob Criss visit and volunteer his help with much needed electrical work in Juarez. He and I put in long hours installing wiring and outlets for a Christian School scheduled to start up in the fall. During this time, we also spent time on the streets of Juarez and El Paso, passing out spanish Chick tracts, preaching and witnessing. We will be in this area through April 18th.
As always, we covet your prayers, especially for boldness and wisdom.

Please pray that God will continue to open doors for us to minister...
“On the Streets”!
